Four families have received during the morning of this Thursday, June 26, the keys of housing of the Emergency Board by the Barcelona City Council, through the IMHAB. These homes are located in the districts of Nou Barris, Sants-Montjuïc, Sant Martí and Sant Andreu.
Joan Ramon Riera, Housing Commissioner, was in charge of delivering the keys in an event where administrative tasks have also been completed, the documentation signed and a guide talk on coexistence and mediation, thanks to the City Council’s Public Housing Prevention and Mediation Service (SPIMH).
Housing to respond to situations of vulnerability
The flats awarded through the Emergency Board are part of the Social Rental Fund, which is managed by the Barcelona Housing Consortium and aimed at vulnerable people and families, either because they are at risk of residential exclusion due to situations such as evictions, foreclosures or payment payment processes; or because they are units of coexistence with minors, the elderly or people in situations of helplessness, with hygienic-sanitary or security precariousness.
People who are in any of these situations can request an appointment in the Barcelona Housing Offices Network, where a valuative report of each case will be made and the available homes will be assigned at all times.
