The Barcelona Municipal Institute of Education (IMEB) will not be charging fees for nursery schools, music schools and the Music Conservatory until they can reopen. The measure affects nearly 11,400 students enrolled at the centres.
The IMEB will not be charging schooling or dining hall fees for municipal nursery schools until they can reopen, due to the exceptional situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. School days which can not be offered at municipal music schools and the Municipal Music Conservatory will not be charged for either.
The amount corresponding to school days which can not be offered in March will be discounted from the next payment taken, whether for schooling or for school dinners, in the case of municipal nursery schools.
The IMEB has sent a message to all the families of students informing them of the measures.
In all, Barcelona’s 101 municipal nursery schools provide service to 8,400 infants, the 5 music schools to 2,450 children and young people, and the Municipal Music Conservatory to a total of 547 enrolled students.
