Barcelona Activa’s Business Support Office will provide a tool for retailers to analyse their level of digital maturity and put together a plan of recommended action to move forward. This analysis will later enable them to access municipal grants to go digital, aimed particularly at commerce with weaker digital profiles.
Different training itineraries are to be defined according to the digital profile of each user, as well as advice and support during the process, subsidies for the investment needed and small-scale pilot schemes to address sectoral and customer demands.
A catalogue of digital applications for commerce will also be created, providing information on important new features and success stories to help inspire other retailers.
According to the Digital Maturity Study in 2017, only 7.71% of city commerce has an advanced digital profile. The study noted a digital divide according to the type of business and territorial location, which this measure seeks to reduce.
